Meet James Gillespie: The man who took V Festival by storm
Learn more about the rising musician and P!NK's latest duet partner
On the brink of stardom, UK-based artist James Gillespie is breaking out onto the music scene with a distinct sound and strong vocals. After his performance alongside P!NK at V Festival sparking some well-deserved buzz for the singer, it’s only helped him to further his popularity.
The release of his debut single ‘What You Do’ has earned him over seven million streams―making him a strong competitor in the future for rising musicians. ‘What You Do’ is haunting and quite reminiscent of many guitar-wielding artists prominent on the charts today―Ed Sheeran, James Bay and Vance Joy, just to name a few.
Gillespie also recorded his own unique cover of P!NK’s ‘Don’t Let Me Get Me’ which landed him a spot beside her at V Festival where they duet the song together giving him an undeniable amount of recognition from an enormous audience. His take on the track is remarkably different―totally recreating the song with a slower, more mellow pace. With gritty vocals and sultry notes, Gillespie has a one of a kind voice that sets him apart from the rest.
The up-and-coming singer continues his success with his recently announced headlining show in London at The Waiting Room on October 23rd, making it his first ever headliner in his career. Following his performance with P!NK, Gillespie’s talent is certainly in high demand.
With talent like his, Gillepsie’s future is looking mighty bright making him an artist we’ll be keeping our eyes on.
