Nicole Scherzinger is the latest to lend her voice to the brand new Disney film ‘Moana’
Disney have announced that Nicole Scherzinger is is the latest star to join the cast of their upcoming film ‘Moana’, which is due for release at the end of this year. ‘Moana’ tells the tale of the life-changing journey of a pertinacious 16-year old – she decides to partner with mighty demigod Maui in the hope of fulfilling an ancient quest.
Scherzinger will be playing the voice of Moana’s mother, Sina. Other names to star alongside her include Jemaine Clement (‘The BFG’, ‘Despicable Me’), Rachel House (‘Whale Rider’, ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’), Temuera Morrison (‘Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones’, ‘Once Were Warriors’), Alan Tudyk (‘Wreck-It Ralph’, ‘Big Hero 6’), Dwayne Johnson (HBO’s ‘Ballers’, ‘Central Intelligence’) and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho who voices Moana herself.
The animation is directed by Ron Clements and John Musker who are the masters behind Disney classics ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Aladdin’. Speaking about the star-studded cast, Musker says: “Our assembled voice cast for this film is beyond our wildest dreams. We are so fortunate to have this group of talented actors, many from Oceania, breathing life into their characters.”
‘Moana’ is in cinemas from 2nd December 2016.
