Kristen Stewart is starring in new movie ‘Equals’, let’s look at 5 of her most successful flicks
Kristen Stewart is starring in brand new sci-fi romance movie ‘Equals’, along with Nicholas Hoult. The story follows Silas and Nia who conquer the odds and discover love in a world where emotion and relationships are prohibited.
In celebration, let’s take a look back at K-Stew’s top five most successful movies to date.
5. The Runaways
Kristen stars in this Indie film which tells the true story of rebellious teens Joan Jett and Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning) as they take the role of the front women of the band ‘The Runaways’ – the legendary group who paved the path future generations of female rockers. I personally think Kristen was the perfect woman to play the role of the legend that is Joan Jett – especially due to her striking resemblance of younger Jett – the film did justice of sharing the piece of music history to our generation.
4. Zathura
This sci-fi thriller is an adapted version of the book by Chris Van Allsburg. ‘Zarutha’ follows the remarkable adventures of two bickering brothers whose quarrels reach epic proportions as they make the mistake of playing the titular board game, which magically transports their house into outer space — and the middle of a battle with alien creatures called Zorgons. Kristen plays the older sister, who for most of the film in cryogenic deep freeze.
3. Panic Room
Stewart’s first big break was in ‘Panic Room’, where she shared her scenes with Jodie Foster who played her onscreen mother. The storyline is about two women hiding in their home from a crew of burglars. None of the film would have worked if it hadn’t have been for Kristen’s acting skills living up to the likes of Foster.
2. Into The Wild
‘Into The Wild’ is an adaption to the true-life story of Christopher McCandless – an uncompromising idealist who rid of his materialistic possessions to embark on a companionless journey which ultimately led him to the Alaskan wilderness — and to his death. Stewart plays supporting character ‘Tracy Tarto’, a girl who McCandless meets while travelling through a Southern California desert commune and leaves behind so he can camp out in an abandoned bus.
1. Adventureland
In this film, we’re transported back to the 1980s where we meet James Brennan, a new college grad who dreams of a celebratory trip to Europe, which are sadly shattered by his sudden money broken parents. James is forced to take on a job at the local theme park where he meets ‘Em’ (Kristen Stewart), an NYU student who comes from a rocky home life with a thing for older guys who look like Ryan Reynolds. The film was a big hit with critics after seeing Mottola’s clear love for his characters and the authentically of the 1980s throughout the film.
‘Equals’ will be released digitally (EST) on 19th September and on VOD & DVD 3rd October.
