Harry Styles shortlisted to play Elvis Presley in new film
He's caught the eye of Baz Luhrmann.
While we’ve all been chewing our nails off waiting for news on Harry Styles’ sophomore solo album, the Englishman has been keeping busy in not entirely unexpected ways — like auditioning for movies.
He made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan’s 2017 war film Dunkirk as the hot-headed soldier Alex, and now Harry’s managed to get himself shortlisted to star in none other than Baz Luhrmann’s (The Great Gatsby, Moulin Rouge!, Romeo + Juliet) latest work.
According to Deadline, Luhrmann just finished filming auditions for a handful of top contenders to play Elvis Presley in a film about the superstar and his manager. This handful contained Harry, Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Miles Teller (Footloose), and Austin Butler (The Carrie Diaries). There’s a lot of good voices and good hair in that group.
If Harry doesn’t get it, please at least pacify us with information about HS2.
