Why I’m super excited for the DC crossover this month
If you’re a HUGE geek like me, then prepare yourself. Although, you’re probably already aware of this major event. As you all know, there are four DC shows currently airing on The CW. And… *drum roll* they’re all banding together for a massive 3-part crossover event this month *dies*.
For those who’ve been living under a rock, the crossover is all about the ‘Invasion!’ story line. To sum it up, aliens (aka Dominators) have come to invade earth, and our heroes must put a stop to it. I know it’s going to be so epic, and I’m internally screaming.
However, one question needs answering: How will Supergirl, being in another universe, crossover? Simple. The Flash and Cisco will travel through the multiverse to recruit Supergirl on the first night. I am all about this crossover life.
So why am I so excited? Because ever since ‘The Avengers’ and ‘Captain America: Civil War’ happened, things changed for me. I was in awe when all the superheroes banded together in one movie. It was epic. And now having the DC characters do the same, I couldn’t be happier.
Some may argue that DC already has a ‘Justice League’ film in the works. While this is true, a television event like this has never been attempted before (as far as I know). You could basically say it’s a TV feature film. The best part? It lasts for almost an entire week. YES! I am ready.
With all the hype surrounding this crossover event, who’s actually in it? Obviously Supergirl, The Flash, and The Green Arrow play a huge role. According to the teaser promo from The CW (watch it below), I can see The Atom, Heatwave, White Canary, Spartan, Harrison Wells, Felicity, Firestorm, and probably a few other surprises. I have faith that the writers will do this story justice (pun intended), and it can’t come soon enough. The wait is agonising. It’ll be so worth it though.
Mark your calendars down for November 28th through to December 1st. The ‘Invasion!’ story begins on Monday as Supergirl crosses over to the other universe. Then it continues Tuesday on ‘The Flash’, Wednesday on ‘Arrow’ and concludes Thursday on ‘Legends of Tomorrow’. Arrange lots of popcorn and invite your friends over, because if you don’t, I’ll invite them for you.
