Woody Allen is one of the best known filmmakers of all time – with a career that spans more than 50 years, he is one of film’s greatest auteurs. With ‘Café Society’ Allen has reimagined the 1930s to tell the story of a bittersweet romance, that tells the story of a group of elite New Yorkers. This film is a love letter from Allen to the movie stars, socialites, playboys, debutantes, politicians, and gangsters who epitomised the excitement and glamour of the age.
‘Café Society’ is centred around Bronx-born Bobby Dorfman (Jesse Eisenberg) and his trip to Hollywood that leads him to fall in love. Shortly after he returns to New York, where he is swept up in the vibrant world of high society nightclub life. The film is a journey that tells the story of the trials, tribulations and triumphs of Bobby and his humble Bronx family
