‘Wicked’ is one of the most beloved and well received musicals of recent times – it has been seen by 50 million people worldwide, has won over 100 major awards, and has been performed in 100 cities in 14 different countries. And even after 10 years on the West End this show continues to radiate pure magic.

We recently went to see the show with its current cast, who will be staying until Saturday 3rd September 2016. Emma Hatton as Elphaba and Savannah Stevenson as Glinda steal the show, their chemistry and charm cannot be denied.  And it’s no surprise, with its incredibly moving narrative, show-stopping soundtrack and stage production – the current London production is a work of theatrical art.

‘Wicked’ tells the other side of the story, the one where Elphaba and Glinda became best friends at Shiz University. They have an encounter with The Wizard and it leads them both down very different paths. Glinda is motivated by power and popularity, whereas Elphaba wants to stay true to herself no matter what. This adventure leads both to their ultimate paths as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

As part of the 10th anniversary a new cast will be taking over the show at the Apollo Victoria Theatre from Monday 5th September 2016. Rachel Tucker will be returning from Broadway to reprise her role as Elphaba in the West End. Suzie Mathers will be joining the cast from the Australian production to play Glinda. Other cast members for the 10th year anniversary include: Anita Dobson (Madame Morrible), Oliver Savile (Flyero), Mark Curry (The Wizard), Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Katie Rowley Jones (Nessarose) and Idriss Kargbo (Boq).

‘Wicked’ will celebrate its 10th anniversary on the West End on Tuesday 27th September 2016 – the new cast will continue their run until Saturday 28th January 2017.
