You could live in Harry Potter’s childhood Godric’s Hollow house

Fancy being neighbours with the Dumbledores?

The Godric’s Hollow house has been listed on a property site and is up for grabs. This is the infamous building where Harry Potter was born, visited in the ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows’ film. When I say you could live in it, I mean you could live in it if you have a spare million pounds as it’s listed for a very modest price of £995,000.00.

The De Vere House is a historic, Victorian residence that possesses six bedrooms and four bathrooms and is located in the quaint village of Lavenham in Suffolk, England. In the ‘Harry Potter’ series of films, it was home to the Potters and was recognisably the place where Voldemort killed Lily and James Potter.

Reportedly, King Henry VIII visited the De Vere household in the late 1400’s; them being the most wealthy family in the village after the royals. Edward de Vere was a leading patron of the Elizabethan era, and there is strong evidence to suggest he was actually responsible for the work of Shakespeare. So a million pounds seems very worth it when you’d be building on such significant history.

Check out some of the photos from the listing, it certainly has a special charm about it!

Hopefully the curse does not live on, and it will soon be home to a dedicated fan of the magical Wizarding World. Although I don’t think your neighbours will be QUITE as intriguing as Albus Dumbledore and Batilda Bagshot, it would be the perfect setting for some Harry Potter-themed parties.
