Two weeks ago, I decided to start watching ‘Shadowhunters’. I remember watching the very first episode when it premiered and I didn’t really like it. The pacing was too quick, I didn’t like the main character and a few other things bothered me too. However, after giving it a second chance it has become my new obsession.
I will say this: the first half of season one is a little hard to get through. The main character, Clary, annoyed me and I didn’t particularly like the actress portraying her. Also the special effects weren’t great and made me cringe at times, but I persisted and eventually fell in love. But season two… oh damn, it is amazing. Everyone has stepped up their game and each episode is a must watch. Here’s why you should all tune into ‘Shadowhunters’ season 2B.
1. Malec
First and foremost and literally the only reason I continued the show to be honest, is ‘Malec’. Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane are the ultimate couple in ‘Shadowhunters’. Not to mention, I always love gay representation as it’s rare to have it portrayed nowadays. Season 2A did an incredible job of developing Alec and Magnus’ relationship into something the fans cannot live without (I’m going to skip over that ‘sex’ scene in 2×07, am I right?) so we’re expecting a lot in 2B.
Granted, it’s only been two episodes of season 2B and ‘Malec’ already play such an integral part of the story. My emotions are already everywhere. I’m interested to see where they take Magnus’ PTSD and how it will affect Alec. Also, more Magnus backstory. Yes, honestly, sign me the f up.
2. Sebastian
Y’all know exactly who I’m talking about (especially those who’ve read the books). I don’t want to give any spoilers away but keep an eye on Sebastian. He has a secret agenda and nothing is what it seems to be. Beware.
3. Simon and Isabelle?
Please tell me I’m not the only one who is shipping Simon and Isabelle together? I just think their chemistry is great on-screen and they’re both a pleasure to watch. If 2×12 was any indication, we’ll hopefully be getting more screen time for them. Because let’s be real, I don’t like Clary and Simon as a romantic couple. They’re better off being best friends. #Sizzy all the way.
4. Clary and Jace
Now that Clary knows Jace ins’t her brother (thanks for spilling the tea, Valentine), her romantic feelings will come rushing back for Jace. It hasn’t happened yet, but I have a feeling by the end of 2B, it’ll be bye Climon and hello Clace.
5. Alec Lightwood
Because who the f wouldn’t watch the show just for Matthew Daddario and his perfect existence? If anyone disagrees, turn your location on I just wanna talk.
