James Corden and his Carpool Karaoke are a staple of the modern pop culture landscape. Featuring classic pop heroes like Stevie Wonder and Mariah Carey to recent chart toppers, such as Selena Gomez and One Direction – it has become a viral sensation. And, now James is stepping it up a notch with everyone’s favourite political figure, The First Lady Michelle Obama.
Michelle was loving every second of the carpool, as she shared that the only time she has been able to jam to music in the passenger seat – in the last seven years was when teaching her daughter how to drive. (Side note: driving around the White House property actually looks like fun, doesn’t it?) But the highlight of the segment? Ms Obama doing the ‘Single Ladies’ dance, and cracking a joke about Beyonce, a Bey-hive and making honey for our lemonade. She really is a national treasure.
Missy Elliott joined the carpool party to drop her verse on ‘This Is For My Girls’. She also stuck around for a ‘Get Ur Freak On’ collaborate, which was an absolute dream to watch.
