Taylor Swift rocks the thigh-high boots trend at NYFW
It’s pretty obvious that Kim Kardashian is solely responsible for this season’s resurgence of the thigh-high boots trend, just like her sister Khloe singlehandedly brought back hoop earrings. However, sometimes Kim’s personal fashion is just a little too much for the average person (read: me) to wear for everyday. As much as I envy her body confidence, baring the nipples on a night out isn’t exactly my go-to look, but the thigh-high boot trend seems like something I could potentially adopt.
If North makes it work, can’t we all?

Thankfully, Taylor Swift emerged at New York Fashion Week wearing a pair of thigh-high boots that are a lot easier to envision working into our own personal, wonderfully average wardrobes.
Sporting a pair of mile-high red velvet boots, Taylor sat front row at the Tommy Hilfiger show for the debut of the Tommy x Gigi Hadid collection. This was Taylor’s first public appearance since the whole Kimye feud went down, but she had to go out to show her support for squad member Gigi.
Anyway, back to those boots. Quite possibly the most genius way to dress for fall when the weather hasn’t yet cooled off (New York City is still around a balmy 80°F/27°C), thigh-high boots keep you covered while letting you wear shorts or a skirt. Not to mention Taylor’s pair just scream autumnal, with the warm crimson color and soft velvet material, perfectly paired with a white top with navy striped details on the neckline and sleeves. She probably could’ve stood up and walked the Tommy Hilfiger runway herself, her outfit paying perfect homage to Tommy’s classic Americana aesthetic.
To get started with the thigh-high boot trend but not commit a whole paycheck to a look that may or may not stick around for a while, try this pair from H&M. Just $59.99/£39.99, they come in the most perfect chestnut brown color to easily work into your fall wardrobe.
