It’s been a year since we heard any music from Years & Years and today, they’ve released a new track. The new single ‘Meteorite’ is taken from the soundtrack to the new Bridget Jones film, ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ which is out later this week.
Years & Years join a list of artists who have contributed to the official soundtrack for the film, they include tracks ‘Still Falling For You’ by Ellie Goulding, as well as songs by Lily Allen, Ed Sheeran, Jess Glynne and more.
This morning the band revealed the track on Nick Grimshaw’s BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show.

Debuting the single at last weekend’s ‘Bestival’, the band are set to begin work on their second album. This will be the follow-up to their debut album ‘Communion’ which they released eight singles from.
Talking about the song in a press release, Olly Alexander said: “We wanted to make something unashamedly disco and upbeat.”
There’s no official music video for the track yet, although if the single is anything to go by I know it’s going to be out of this world…get it?!
Anyway, moving on – I had a look to see what other artists have gone with a space theme and found quite a few over the years.
Will Smith (1997)
Backstreet Boys (1999)
Britney Spears (2000)
Katy Perry and Kanye West 2011
