Ever meet somebody new and low key make a fool of yourself? All those questions running through your head like, “Is it cool that I said all that?”
“Is it chill that you’re in my head?”
“Is it too soon to do this yet?”
“Isn’t it? Isn’t it? Isn’t it? Isn’t it?”
Taylor Swift knows how that goes in the new music video for her latest single, ‘Delicate’, which premiered last night at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The 28-year-old singer is more relatable than ever in the video, which starts out on a red carpet for an event with Taylor in a fringed, cerulean gown. She’s meeting paparazzi, fans, and even a crazed hotel bellhop when she receives a mysterious (and magically glowing) piece of paper. It’s obvious she feels trapped by her constant need for security when they begin walking perfectly in step with her.
Sitting at a vanity, Taylor practicing her smile turns into her pulling silly faces in the mirror.

All of a sudden, her reflection vanishes and the mysterious piece of paper continues to glow and sparkle. This is when Taylor discovers she’s become invisible — even her security detail can’t see her anymore.

Time to break out into dance in the hotel lobby.

Taylor starts out feeling free with her newfound invisibility; free from the photographers, overzealous “fans,” and her bodyguards. But as the dancing moves from the hotel to the subway to the rainy streets, she appears to start to feel a bit lonely.

Escaping from the rain inside a diner, Taylor wishes on her magical piece of paper, and everyone in the diner suddenly turns to look at her — she’s visible again. The video ends with her relieved smile.

Even though it may be liberating to be silly when no one can see you, Taylor proves that the best feeling in the world is just being yourself. And yes, it’s cool that you said all that.
