One month after we spoke of Shawn Mendes’ upcoming album, he’s only gone and released another emotional acoustic ballad, ‘Mercy’. With just a few weeks until the official release on September 23rd, the Toronto teen continues to keep us intrigued with what to expect from his second album. This is the fourth track to be released from the upcoming album following his single ‘Treat You Better’ which topped the chart in over 25 countries.
Though we’re yet to see an official video for the single, Mendes has teased fans with a number of short clips uploaded to his Instagram page which look quite similar to his ‘Ruin’ music video.
The Canadian-born singer-songwriter first attracted a following in 2013 when he began posting song covers on Vine. However, it wasn’t until 2014 that he released his first single ‘Life of the Party’, followed by the release of his full-length debut album ‘Handwritten’ which featured the popular track ‘Stitches’.
Shawn hits the UK next month ahead of the ‘Illuminate’ album release, pre-order the album now.
