If you’ve been following One Direction through their five-year climb to superstardom, then you’ll most likely have heard of their bass player, Sandy Beales. Sandy who’s also a seasoned session musician joined the rest of the band after hearing about the audition through word of mouth.
We caught up with him at The Academy of Contemporary Music, where he was giving some lucky students a masterclass to find out what advice he would give to young people looking to play bass as a full-time career choice.
And, if he’d rather serenade Beyoncé or Rihanna, as you do.
