Maybe it’s due to the slightly warmer weather of April, but we’ve got summertime anthems on the brain here – and this week’s new music delivered just that. Sail off into the sunset with new tunes from these up-and-comers you should definitely be keeping an eye (and ear) on this year.

The Tide – ‘Put The Cuffs On Me’

This Los Angeles band has skyrocketed to stardom over the past year, and they’re kicking off 2017 with their latest club banger ‘Put The Cuffs On Me’. Speaking about the theme of the track, band member Austin says, “You see these villains that are in these shows and you wonder what got them there. What makes them that way?”

Louisa Johnson – ‘Best Behaviour’

The full video for ‘X Factor’ winner Louisa Johnson’s latest single ‘Best Behaviour’ finally arrives, following ‘So Good’ (300,000 sales) and ‘Tears’ (500,000 sales). Louisa stuns in this fun video, singing from literally the wing of a plane.

Cheat Codes ft. Demi Lovato – ‘No Promises’

Los Angeles-based DJ/production trio Cheat Codes has teamed up with pop music queen Demi Lovato to bring you a track that will undoubtedly be one of the top songs of summer 2017. Demi says, “Collaborating with the Cheat Codes was so much fun, and I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks!”

Emmi – ‘Talk To Me’

You might unofficially already know Emmi from her role as a singing goblin in ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’, but now she’s here with her own music. In an interview, Emmi told The 405 she wanted ‘Talk To Me’ to essentially be “an anti-gossip anthem.”

Little Mix ft. Machine Gun Kelly – ‘No More Sad Songs’

The girls of Little Mix have returned with the latest single off their ‘Glory Days’ album. Teaming up with Machine Gun Kelly, they’ve let their inner ‘Coyote Ugly’ personas out in the official video for ‘No More Sad Songs’, taking to the bar for a little pool shooting, drink pouring, bartop dancing action.

Bleachers – ‘Don’t Take the Money’

Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff (you know him – he’s written for Taylor Swift, Zayn, and Lorde, and was the lead guitarist in fun.) says this song’s title is a phrase he frequently says to himself to stay on track. “Specifically in this song I’m writing about my relationship,” he explains, “And the verse and chorus run quickly through the past and the fight leading to the euphoria of seeing the light with someone else.”

Oh Wonder – ‘Ultralife’

London duo Anthony West and Josephine Vander Gucht, better known as Oh Wonder, have released their track ‘Ultralife’ as they prepare to play at Coachella on Friday, April 14th. They released one song per month during the entire year of 2015, earning them 500 million streams.

Emma Ballantine – ‘Through Your Eyes’

The fourth and final song to be released off her EP ‘Somebody’s Story’, singer/songwriter Emma Ballantine aimed for ‘Through Your Eyes’ to help the world better understand a 14-year-old boy with autism named James. Emma says, “I hope it challenges preconceptions and shows that perhaps people with autism have a clearer appreciation of things and a deeper wisdom than people without.”

Janine – ‘Don’t Love Me’

You may remember her as Janine and the Mixtape from her 2013 single ‘Hold Me’, but Janine (just Janine now) is back in 2017 with a shorter name and new single ‘Don’t Love Me’ with an accompanying music video. Her full album is due out later this year.

Kylie Hughes – ‘Heat’

Kylie Hughes’ self-titled album comes out May 26th, and ‘Heat’ is the first single off of it. In an interview, Kylie told Myspace, “I love muscle cars and I love movies like Footloose, where the guy pulls up in the hot car and the girl jumps in and they drive off into the sunset making out… this song gives me that carefree/reckless feeling.”
