On Our Radar: Mr Little Jeans, Heimway, The Away Days, and more
If you’re on the look-out for the freshest sounding new songs to add to your playlist this week, you’re in the right place. On our radar this week is the best new music to come out of the United States, United Kingdom and Turkey.
Mr Little Jeans – ‘Fool 4 You’
United States
Mr Little Jeans also known as Monica Birkenes was born in Norway and has since totally immersed herself in music, citing early influences as PJ Harvey and Massive Attack. Having already had critically acclaimed success with her debut album, ‘Pocketknife’ and her rendition of Arcade Fire’s ‘The Suburbs’, Little Big Knife is ready to take on the world again with her upcoming EP.
Partnering with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 radio show Mr Little Jeans shared the below track ‘Fool 4 You’ remixed by Rytmeklubben. The synth-based grown up pop tune is the perfect comeback single and cements Mr Little Jean’s place in the alt-pop genre.

Heimway – ‘Ellis’
United Kingdom
Heimway formed over a mutual love for guitars, vintage audio gear and single malt whisky. Hailing from Brighton, the alt-rock band ooze raw emotion through their guitar laden tracks and crooning vocals. ‘Ellis’ plays with the themes of love, loss and broken relations, ‘Ellis was originally written as a song about the terrible things we do emotionally to those we say we love when a relationship falls apart’ Heimway said.

Writing and arranging all of his music, Steven takes pride in the songwriting process from start to finish. ‘In Disguise’ is pure pop-rock ‘n’ roll with a melody that’ll have your head bobbing for days.

The Away Days – ‘World Horizon’
Turkey
Something of a cultural and music first in their hometown of Istanbul, The Away Days are a Turkish dream pop indie band. Since forming they’ve supported the likes of Massive Attack and Belle & Sebastian as well as performing internationally at the critically acclaimed SXSW. ‘World Horizon’ transports you on a journey that you won’t ever want to end, if all dreams were like this I’d never wake up.
