It’s been nine months since Olivia Rodrigo captivated the attention of the entire world with the release of her debut album Sour. The 18-year-old has come so far since then, from sweeping the Grammy nominations to recently winning a Brit award, and is about to embark on her first ever tour.
Now Olivia, who started her career as a child actor on Disney Channel, is about to add another achievement to her CV as she’s announced a music documentary. ‘Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film)’ will be released March 25th exclusively on Disney+.
According to the press release, Olivia will take viewers on a road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles while recounting how she made her Grammy-nominated debut record, sharing how she felt navigating her life at the time. The film will also include the pop star’s personal stories, behind-the-scenes and never-before-seen footage both in and out of the studio, as well as intimate interviews.
The title of course is taken from the hit song that started it all – ‘driver’s license‘. The debut single not only cemented itself as one of the catchiest heartbreak anthems of all time but also broke records worldwide, receiving the most streams in a day on Spotify with over 17.01M streams. Olivia holds the title for biggest weekly streaming debut for any song globally in Spotify history.
