Today is a special anniversary for many Arianators. On April 20, 2018, Ariana Grande released her comeback single ”No Tears Left To Cry.” It became Ariana’s most meaningful single, and it ended high in the charts, becoming certified 3x Platinum in the US.
Last week, the music video even hit the magic number of one billion views, making it Ariana’s first solo video to achieve this. It’s been a rollercoaster, and we can all agree that it was one of the most iconic comebacks ever.
Let’s go back to 2018, where a new era started.
After the terrorist attack at Ariana’s concert in Manchester in 2017, all went quiet on Ariana’s social media after she finished her Dangerous Woman Tour. Fans were worried, and rightfully so, because they all knew that the artist was having a hard time. But a half year later, friends and family of Ariana began to appear in a grey sweaters with ”No Tears Left To Cry” on it.
It became clear that Ariana would drop something special very soon, and after a few days of teasing, she posted a snippet of the song on her socials. And thus, “No Tears Left To Cry” was born, an iconic song for the fandom with a beautiful meaning after a tough time for Ariana and her fans.
A song that never gets old and carries an important meaning behind it: leaving the past in the past, because there are no tears left to cry.
