Video game lovers, rejoice. With everyone talking about Pokémon Go, Nintendo chose the perfect time to announce that they’re relaunching the NES.
The original version, like most pieces of 80’s technology, was a large and clunky beast of a machine. It was released in the U.S. in 1985 and the U.K. in 1986—yeah, that’s 30 years ago.
The new NES of 2016 will be small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and it comes pre-loaded with 30 games, including classics like Donkey Kong, Dr. Mario, Final Fantasy, Mario Bros, Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros, and the Legend of Zelda. Also unlike the 80’s version, the new NES will feature HDMI outputs for all your high-definition classic gaming delights.
On the downside, the NES will not be able to connect to the Internet and no future games will be created for it.
The system, including its 30 built-in games and one controller, will sell for a very reasonable $59.99 (additional controllers will be $9.99). It goes on sale on November 11th, just in time for the holidays.
