One of our favourite artists from the last two decades has released his new single “What I Am”. If you still wonder who that artist is, we are obviously talking about ZAYN. The singer released the song in anticipation of his fourth studio album Room Under The Stairs.
On “What I Am” Zayn shows a completely new side of himself, with an influence of country music and his raw vocals. On the track Zayn is wondering if he’s being crazy or foolish and is wondering if he’s playing stupid games with people. With more lyrics as “Livin’ in the moment feels good to me till it hurts and I need somebody” and “Take me as I am / I’m tired of dancin’ around the point” is he definitely hitting an emotional snare at people.
ZAYN’s upcoming album Room Under The Stairs, which will be released on May 17th, will be the singer’s most personal album so far. It has been in a process of over six years in his Pennsylvania home studio. It’s an album that explores themes of healing, self-discovery and growth. Or as he describes it himself: “It’s pure honesty and vulnerability”. — May 17, hurry up!
