The Wanted have released a brand new beautiful version of their smash hit ‘Gold Forever’, which was originally a Comic Relief single, in memory of their bandmate Tom Parker.
Tom tragically passed away last month, at the age of 33, after a two-year battle with stage four glioblastoma (brain tumour), and his life was celebrated at a memorial last week. Tom’s family wanted to have ‘Gold Forever’ played at his funeral, so The Wanted created a more fitting version of the song to play, they named it ‘Gold Forever (For Tom)’.
As wished, this version of ‘Gold Forever’ was played at Tom’s memorial and The Wanted decided to post it the same evening so their fans could listen to it too. The song was posted alongside a beautiful video remembering Tom. You can watch the video below.
Due to fan demand and the positive reaction, The Wanted decided to release the song for them to download. All of the proceeds from the song will be donated to The Brain Tumour Charity. Tom was a huge advocate for The Brain Tumour Charity and raised tons of money for them before his death.
