This week The Driver Era’s fans were treated to a brand new tune from the duo. ‘Malibu’ dropped last week and gives off the ultimate summer chill vibes.
The Driver Era, who were formerly in R5, only announced the summer song ten days prior to releasing it. They are just about to embark on a summer tour around the US, before taking the tour internationally.
‘Malibu’ is the first track that Ross and Rocky Lynch have collaborated with songwriter, Griff Clawson, on. The brothers admitted in a recent interview that they knew they wanted the song to sound like it should be played at the beach, which may be the reason it was given the name ‘Malibu’.
Speaking to Dork, the duo said: “Malibu is about reminiscing on experiences in the best locations. It’s about getting away. It’s the spontaneous trip you take with someone – maybe you knew them before, or maybe you’re meeting them for the first time.”
Seriously this song really needs to be added to your ultimate summer playlist! You can listen to ‘Malibu’ here.
