Two years after their fourth studio album, Notes on a Conditional Form , The 1975 are getting ready to release new music! “Part of the Band” is set to release on July 7th, 6 PM UK time.
Earlier this week frontman Matty Healy posted an artful picture alerting that the Manchester alternative-rock-pop group are back with new tunes. Of course, the picture is completely tasteful and looks so effortlessly cool and composed– making us miss the good ol’ Tumblr days. A black and white picture shows Matty sitting in an old and worn-down car, he’s wearing a posh coat, and he looks exhausted but still manages to look dreamy and sophisticated.
Following the announcement, Matty took to Instagram once again and posted a snippet of “Part of the Band” and wow… we’re kinda convinced that this is going to be the best song. Sounding like the love child of “Sincerity is Scary” and “Tonight (I Wish I Was Your Boy)”
Full of sax overlayed with the ambient drawl of distant chatter and conversations, “Part of the Band” already sounds like a new development for the band. Although harkening back to fan favorites, this seems softer with a more intricate production.
We’re not sure we’ll be able to wait patiently for the 7th… let the countdown begin.
In just a week, we’ll have new The 1975 music just in time for summer! Somebody pinch us.
