Sam Smith is back with brand new music for the first time since 2020 with the single ‘Love Me More’.
“I wrote this song for anyone who feels different, anyone who has to stop themselves every day from saying unkind things to themselves, in their head, all the time”, says Sam.
“I felt like that for the longest time and slowly I’m learning how to just be nice to myself. I wanted to share that because I captured it in this song. Over the last two years, music has been my therapy more than ever. So I hope this song can be your friend.”
A music video was released alongside the track which begins with a video montage of footage from Sam’s childhood, supporting the song’s personal message to love yourself the way you are.
Sharing the video on Twitter, Sam wrote:
“This is the first time I got to codirect with my beautiful friend & long time collaborater Luke Monaghan. We wanted to make something real & honest & I wanted this to mark the beginning & the end of something. A perfect way to start this new chapter x”
