It’s a good day to be Rita Ora.
Not only did the pop singer drop her new single ‘You Only Love Me’, but she also confirmed that she has married Oscar-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi.
Co-written by Ora and produced by Lewis Thompson, ‘You Only Love Me’ is about her personal experience of feeling vulnerable at the start of her romantic journey. The song even starts off with a voice memo from Waititi.
It’s an infectious joyful pop anthem that might just make you believe in love again.
In a press release, Rita says of the single, “With ‘You Only Love Me’ and my upcoming album, I wanted to capture the vulnerability I’ve experienced as I opened myself up to love and entered a new phase of life. Learning to let go of the past to make way for new experiences is a deeply personal process, and one I felt compelled to document through my music- the journey was not always easy, but I’ve come out of it stronger and filled with more love than I ever thought possible.”
This track is the first song off of Ora’s highly anticipated upcoming album. Along with the song’s release is the accompanying music video directed by Charlie Sarsfield.
It was shot in the LA suburbs and depicts a fictional wedding with hyperreal scenes of a bride’s big day turned upside-down. The video features star-studded cameos ranging from Kristen Stewart, Lindsay Lohan, Jodie Turner-Smith, Chelsea Handler, Addison Rae, Alexander Stewart, and the one and only Sharon Stone.
Next Wednesday, February 1st, Ora will make her debut performance of ‘You Only Love Me’ on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
