Olivia Rodrigo made her TV debut this Thursday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon performing her hit single ‘drivers license’ for the first time.
Rodrigo performed a stripped-back version of her latest single proving to us all that sometimes all you need is just a good ol’ grand piano and some killer vocals.
Though we don’t get those pop elements like we do when listening to the original version, her performance of ‘drivers license‘ still managed to capture the same feeling when we all heard this song for the first time- a powerful ballad that has us feeling emotional.
Of course, she also had us singing along to our favorite part, Red lights! Stop signs!
But it was early January when Rodrigo made her music debut releasing “drivers license” for all of us to hear and created a name for herself. After the release and it only being out for three days, Rodrigo’s debut single went number one on all major streaming platforms.
Now, fast forward a month later after its release, just this week, on Billboard’s Hot 100, Rodrigo’s debut single has been sitting at number one for three weeks straight and she is proving to be a contender of artists to look out for in this new year.
Though ‘drivers license’ has only been out for a month now, it’s definitely proving to be a hit song for 2021 and we cannot wait to hear more.
