NCT has returned with the second part of their project NCT 2020 “Resonance” album. NCT’s first part of the NCT 2020 resonance album was released in October and showed the 23 piece group forming different sub-units with the release of “Make A Wish (Birthday Song)” and “From Home”, both tracks from NCT U.
The lead single of the second part is “90’s Love”, which features Ten, Mark, WinWin, Haechan, Jeno, YangYang, and Sungchan. The title track is old school yet ‘newtro’. “90’s Love” takes you back to the retro hip-hop that we got from the era in the song’s name but there is a modern twist with the various instruments used throughout, so the song can be better described as ‘newtro’. The song is loaded with energy that pulls it back to the 90s. At the beginning of the song, the ‘Hey Hey Hey’ helps to hype up the song and the rapping sequences keep up with the hype. “90’s Love” comes with a fun and cool video, the theme this time is ice hockey with the ice rink fully branded NCT. As per usual, the choreography shows NCT impeccable dance skills. Just watch the dance break after the bridge, pretty intense!
“RESONANCE Pt. 2” features a total of 21 songs, with eight brand new tracks along with the 13 songs from Pt. 1. The new songs offer a fresh glimpse of the chemistry between the members. In addition to “90’s Love,” highlights include the electronic dance track “Work It,” the hip-hop infused “Raise The Roof” and “I.O.U.,” the pop-fueled “All About You” and the emotional ballad “My Everything.” Two instrumental tracks – “Interlude: Present to Future” and “Outro: Dream Route” – round out the selection of new songs.
When released back in October, “RESONANCE Pt. 1” debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 and propelled NCT to the No. 1 position on the Emerging Artists chart for the second time this year. Pt. 1 hit No. 1 on the iTunes album chart in 35 countries, including the U.S. Combined global sales surpassed 1.2 million in the first week. With over 25 million views in the first 24 hours, the official video for “Make A Wish” was the #1 most-viewed video on YouTube on the day of its release. Combined views now exceed 111 million.
