Little Monsters rejoice because new music from Lady Gaga is on the way and it’s all thanks to the highly anticipated new Tom Cruise movie, Top Gun: Maverick.
On Wednesday, Gaga announced that she will release the movie’s soundtrack lead single, “Hold My Hand” on May 3.
Of course, this is not Gaga’s first time writing songs for films. In 2019, the 13-time Grammy winner won her first Oscar for “Shallows” from A Star Is Born.
In leading up to her announcement, Gaga cryptically tweeted lyrics from the song starting with, “Hold my hand everything will be ok I heard from the heavens that clouds have been grey.”

“When I wrote this song for Top Gun: Maverick, I didn’t even realize the multiple layers it spanned across the film’s heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in,” Gaga said.
She went on to say that “Hold My Hand” is a “love letter to the world during and after a very hard time.”
“Hold My Hand” drops everywhere on May 3 and Top Gun: Maverick hits theaters on May 27
