Despite most clubs still being shut due to the pandemic, dance pop is thriving right now – just look at Dua Lipa’s remix of her album Future Nostalgia and Joel Corry’s ‘Head & Heart’ which has held the top spot on the UK charts for six weeks and counting.
DJ and producer Sigala is no stranger to creating a hit and this time, he’s teamed up with James Arthur for their new single ‘Lasting Lover’. Dubbed as an “emotional club banger,” the song was originally written by Lewis Capaldi but has been reinvented and given an upbeat twist.
Sigala explained how the collab came about, saying “I first heard it as an acoustic track. From there, it’s been a very fun journey to take it to where it is now. I have wanted to work with James Arthur for ages, as I love his voice, but because the song came together during lockdown, I wasn’t actually able to meet James in person, so we worked across Zoom for a long time and finally met on the set for the music video – luckily we got on just as well in real life!”
’Lasting Lover’ is the follow-up to Sigala and Becky Hill’s ‘Heaven On My Mind’ and James Arthur’s first release since his single ‘Quite Miss Home’.
