Last Friday (7th), BTS’s J-hope released his highly anticipated new single, Sweet Dreams, featuring singer Miguel. Marking his first-ever love song, J-hope actively participated in the songwriting process. After spending 18 months away from ARMY, this release is undoubtedly the best gift he could give his fans. The song quickly soared to the top of the iTunes Worldwide chart, making J-hope the first Asian act to achieve a No. 1 on the chart in 2025.
To celebrate the release, J-hope hosted a livestream on Weverse on Thursday at 11 PM KST. During the live, the rapper and dancer chatted with ARMY, shared a meal with fans, and then went to sleep—an event that was watched by over 9 million people. Yes, 9 million ARMYs tuned in to a dark screen just to be part of J-hope’s night. The next morning, he woke up, went through his morning routine alongside fans, and later got his hair and makeup done before heading to the Sweet Dreams launch event in Seoul. By the end of the livestream, more than 29 million fans had joined, setting a new record for the most-watched live broadcast on the platform.
At the event on Friday, J-hope answered questions, interacted with fans, and even danced on stage, making it an unforgettable moment for the BTS fandom.
Up next, J-hope is set to perform Sweet Dreams on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this Monday (10th), with tickets for the live audience selling out instantly.
Currently on his solo tour, which kicked off last weekend in Seoul, J-hope is scheduled to visit cities across the United States, Mexico, and several Asian countries. In the midst of it all, he will also headline Lollapalooza Berlin. His tour will run through June – the same month when the remaining BTS members complete their military service and the group celebrates their 12th anniversary.
Could a reunion be on the horizon? We sure hope so!
In the meantime, fans are loving the Sweet Dreams content, especially the dance challenges featuring fellow idols -and even BTS’s beloved security guard, Mr. Lee.
