Red Velvet are Spring Queens in their highly-anticipated comeback. The group have released the mini-album The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm alongside the title track ‘Feel My Rhythm’ and its music video.
‘Feel My Rhythm’ is a pop-dance song that samples Bach’s ‘Air on the G-String’ with pop-trap beats. The lyrics of ‘Feel My Rhythm’ express the feeling of freedom when taking an imaginary journey across time and space.
In the music video, inspired by the Bach piece, the group is portrayed like in an opera set and pays homage to the opera and classic period. In a press conference early today (March 21), Joy has said, “We shot the music video like an opera. If you look at it, some people appear wearing masks like the characters in operas, and there are also oil-painted animations in the clip. The video is a mixture of catchy classics and elements, and I think it’s a video that you would want to keep watch”.
The mini-album, The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm, includes the title track ‘Feel My Rhythm’, and the B-side tracks ‘Rainbow Halo’, ‘Beg For Me’, ‘BAMBOLEO’, ‘Good, Bad, Ugly’, and ‘In My Dreams’. This release marks Red Velvet’s comeback after the release of Queendom in August 2021.
The ReVe Festival 2022 is an addition to the The ReVe Festival series. In 2019, the group released three parts of its The ReVe Festival” series: The ReVe Festival Day 1, The ReVe Festival Day 2, and The ReVe Festival Finale.
In today’s press conference, Joy mentioned how she hopes to see Red Velvet as the queens of all seasons as they will have many comebacks this year.
SM Entertainment has announced that as of March 20, the album has amassed 516,866 pre-orders, marking the band’s highest pre-order sales.
