Fresh from her hit ‘This Is Real’ with Jax Jones, Ella Henderson continues her return to music with the release of a brand new single ‘Take Care of You’. The pop anthem is about loving someone through difficult times – something that’s more important then ever in these current times as we all strive to look after our mental health.
Co-written with Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter, the song is the first taste of Ella’s upcoming EP arriving this summer. It premiered alongside a music video, shot using an iPhone and drones, which sees her on a computer looking back at some of her favourite memories.
The singer makes it clear that the topic of mental health is close to her heart and has continued to use her platform to raise awareness during lockdown. Outlining the message behind the song, she explains: “I couldn’t put into words how I was feeling, but alongside two of my favourite writers in the world, Julia and Justin, they helped me turn my thoughts into song. This song is for everyone I love, as well as a message of self-care – a personal reminder to look after myself, both mentally and physically.”
2019 saw Ella’s long-awaited return to music when she released her first solo material in over four years. ‘Glorious’, the EP, encompassed her journey of self-acceptance all while showcasing the stunning vocals that fans know her best for. We for one are super excited to see where Ella goes next!
