Dua Lipa has been named one of Time magazine’s Next Generation Leaders of 2017—a fitting title for one of pop music’s biggest stars on the rise. Along with her catchy pop tunes, Dua has also shown she’s a great role model for her fans.

Her feminist-fueled anthems like ‘New Rules’ and ‘IDGAF’ have really shown she’s an advocate for girl power and empowering women. She’s also given her two cents plenty of times via social media, something not many stars do, perhaps out of fear for the backlash from people with opposing opinions.
Isn't it time to ban guns already? Why does it have to take a tragedy to make people wake the fuck up.

I am outraged and heartbroken and this needs to stop. We must keep protesting against hate and standing up for love. Love will prevail

A "fine" person is not someone who openly incites racism and hatred. @realDonaldTrump you are an obstacle to civilisation.

Sometimes t’s can feel challenging to find women sticking up for other women in the celebrity world, like there’s some kind of unsung rivalry between girls; it seems almost mandatory for them to hate each other. But Dua is constantly showing her support for other female acts such as Charli XCX, Zara Larsson and Camila Cabello.
Dua is currently on tour, traveling all across Europe and the U.S. She’s been showing off her powerful voice, sense of style, and even her advocacy on different issues while on stage.

Dua’s recent success, especially in the US, is well-deserved, and her hit ‘New Rules’ keeps steadily rising on the charts, making her a force to be reckoned with in the pop scene. It’s nice to see someone of her caliber trying to raise a bit of awareness on issues that matter, especially to a fanbase like hers—young, influential people that are always willing to try and make a change.
One thing’s for sure, her emphasis on girl power makes it easier for women to stick together—especially in times like these, when we need each other more than ever.
