Ariana Grande has had one hell of a year. She’s had a no. 1 album, just announced a world tour, an engagement (then called-off engagement), and even got a pet pig (aptly named Piggy Smalls)—just to name a few big game-changing events in the mega popstar’s life. With ‘sweetener’ setting the tone for a different kind of pop music, experimenting with a whole new sound that the singer proudly takes the reigns of—we were happy with an entire 15-track album that delivered us another dose of Ari’s super sweet vocals but she isn’t ready to rest quite yet.
Just this past week, the songstress released ‘thank u, next,’ an ode to all her exes in which she thanks them all for making her stronger. It’s certainly a page we could take out of her book. She even mentions the late Mac Miller with whom Ariana had an almost four-year relationship with. It’s confirmation that the singer has been through the wringer especially within the past two years.

Following the Manchester bombing in 2016 during her Dangerous Woman Tour where 22 fans lost their lives and the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend Miller shortly after the pair broke up, it’s amazing that the star has been able to bounce back so gracefully. Now she’s revealed that she plans to release another full-length LP before the year is over. She’s been hard at work in the studio, even posting exclusive clips on her official Instagram account of supposed new tracks that could possibly be featured on this forthcoming album.
So the question lies: what can we expect from Ariana’s fifth record? She isn’t shy at all about what it might be all about—teasing new lyrics, confirming the album name, and that her upcoming Sweetener World Tour will be a combination of ‘sweetener’ and her new project.
cause look what i found …. ain’t no need for searching and for that i say…. thank u, next

More recently, the singer’s newest video for her latest single ‘breathin’ has possibly revealed some of the potential track titles. The stunning visual for Ariana’s anthem about coping with anxiety is the perfect segway into a fresh chapter for the powerhouse musician.
Much like ‘thank u, next,’ we expect the rest of her album to be full of compassionate, self-discovering pop music. Ariana has been overcome by a list of tragic events—love, loss, and grief are all stacked against her. But despite it all, she’s powered through like the role model she’s shaped herself to be. The prospect of watching an undeniably strong woman take on the idea of self-love and respect through pop music is much needed in a society that sometimes makes you feel like you’re bringing a knife to a gun fight.
