Two years ago, British girl band The Saturdays split up following years at the top of the charts, and over five million records sold. Today, band member Mollie King has announced that she is going down her own path and releasing her first ever solo single. The news was announced yesterday when she revealed the song ‘Back To You’ along with an exclusive teaser which revealed that the track will be released on Friday 19th August.
The music video will be shot by Lisa Gunning who is well known for directing Fifty Shades of Grey and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. And from the teaser which Mollie unleashed on Twitter, it looks to be a treat.
Talking about what fans get to expect from the track, Mollie revealed ‘It’s a very personal song to me. A lot of my writing inspiration has come from what I’ve been through over the last couple of years. In a band, it’s sometimes difficult to write about personal experiences because there’s a lot of members. My solo material is the kind of music that I love, stylistically this is me and I’m saying things that I want to say.’
