HAVEN is quickly taking over the social media universe with her catchy tracks on platforms like TikTok, but she is also climbing the charts. As a brand new act added to Dinah Jane of Fifth Harmony‘s world tour, HAVEN is gaining attention not only from music fans around the world but from some of the biggest artists in the industry. In an exclusive interview with United By Pop, HAVEN opens up about touring, her fans and dream collaborations.
What can you tell us about your latest single ‘Be With You’ and the inspiration behind it?
The process for writing ‘Be With You’ was super rare. I was in a session and we had already written two songs that day. We had 30 minutes left and figured we’d try to knock out one more idea before I left. We ended up writing the whole song in 20 minutes. It literally felt like ‘Be With You’ fell out of the sky. We wrote it faster than we could type it. That almost never happens, but it’s so cool when it does.
Selena Gomez loves that track and even posted about it on Instagram! What was your reaction to that happening? Is she an artist you idolize or have idolized as an aspiring artist growing up?
It almost didn’t feel real. She has been so welcoming and kind to me, and I am so incredibly thankful for her friendship and support. I’ve looked up to her almost my whole life she is truly an angel! She is definitely my idol and someone I admire and hope to be like! Very very thankful for her support.
You are now opening up for Dinah Jane on tour in North America! How excited are you to get on the road and perform for fans across the United States?
So excited! Performing is my favorite part of all of this, so to get to go on the road with Dinah is a dream come true! I can’t wait to meet everyone!
You have been touring since you were 15! How has it been to experience opening up and working with such big names in the industry at a young age?
I am so thankful to have had those experiences. I learned a lot about performing and I got to meet so many new people. Doing those dates was a dream come true and looking back on those shows I realize how lucky and blessed I was to have had those opportunities.
Millions of people have found your music through TikTok! How do you think that platform has helped your career thus far and allowed fans to connect/discover you and your music?
I think social media, if used in the right ways, is a great source for artists to get their music out and reach people they may have never been able to reach before. I love connecting and meeting new people. It’s given me an outlet to connect and also support other people on their journey. Tik Tok has been a major blessing! It’s been so fun to see people making videos to my music! I love it.
Are there are any artists or producers that you would love to collaborate with in the future?
I would love to collab with Julia Michaels, Selena Gomez, Bazzi and Shawn Mendes.
What are your goals as an artist for this year?
To continue to grow, release music, tour and reach more people with my music. My big goal is to headline my own arena tour one day.
What can fans look forward to in the near or distant future?
Lots of new music and shows!! I’m so excited to get on the road & meet everyone starting April 7th! Thank you so much for your support!
