“One take only, one life only,” The First Take, a popular YouTube channel that features artists performing an unedited one-take of any song, has coined this slogan, almost like a challenge for any artist up for the task.
Harry Styles took the First Take challenge and performed his melodic acoustic hit, “Boyfriends,” with only his voice, a guitar, and a few harmonizing backup singers. He took the stage and performed his most intimate and angelic rendition of the song.
The First Take features Japanese artists and prides itself on being obscure with their choices. Harry Styles, a global pop superstar, doesn’t quite fit the description of a typical guest The First Take would feature. However, during an interview with Zane Lowe, Styles revealed that the title Harry’s House is paying homage to the Japanese City Pop trailblazer Haruomi Horsono’s 70s album titled Haruomi’s House.
When listening to Harry’s most recent album, you can hear the influence, nostalgia, and respect; a fun and vibrant form of expression, upbeat dance-pop that’s so easy and accessible while also covering heavy topics.
Harry seems incredibly calm and effortlessly relaxed as he expertly makes us all swoon with this pared-down version of this H.H. favorite.
Harry is currently on the second leg of his Love on Tour, be sure to grab a ticket! Enjoy a night of dancing, excitement, and being loved for who you are; that’s how it goes in Harry’s House.
