Festival season is in full swing! With Reading and Leeds Festival 2017 only a week away, here are 10 amazing acts that you will surely not want to miss over the incredible bank holiday weekend.
HAIM
These wonderful women are not to be missed this festival season, after the release of their incredible new album ‘Something To Tell You’ earlier this year. They certainly will be ‘Ready For You’ as they headline the NME/Radio 1 Stage on Sunday at Reading and Friday in Leeds. A must-see before they resume their American Tour… After all, they just want a ‘Little Of Your Love’.
Eminem
The self-proclaimed rap god is not to be missed as he headlines his third Reading and Leeds Festival, having done so in 2001 and 2013. Even at 44, Eminem is still just as prolific and powerful as when he released, ‘The Eminem Show’ back in 2002. A global superstar, Eminem has sold over 172 million albums across the globe and is without doubt, one of the best rappers of all time.
Jimmy Eat World
Alternative Rock powerhouses Jimmy Eat World return to Reading and Leeds this year, having released their latest album ‘Integrity Blues’ late last year. Notorious for their live shows, Jimmy Eat World and their wealth of well-known classics are not to be missed! You’ll want to be in the middle of this.
At the Drive In
At The Drive In are back with a bang and this time, with a new album! 17 years after the release of the incredible ‘Relationship of Command’ the post-hardcore band look to build on their legacy with the release of the much awaited ‘in•ter a•li•a’. You won’t want to miss their enigmatic and explosive set; it is sure to impress even the most hardcore festival-goer!
Blossoms
Indie-band Blossoms burst onto the music scene with the success of their debut self-titled album in 2016. Having reached number 1 in the UK Album Chart, being shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize 2017 and coming off a headline tour in March, Blossoms have surely established themselves as indie music royalty. Playing underneath Muse and Liam Gallagher on the Main Stage will no doubt be their biggest show so far.
Arcane Roots
Energetic Alternative Rock band, Arcane Roots, are worth any festival-goers time, as they play the festival just under a month before the release of their next album, ‘Melancholia Hymns’. The band, which make so much noise you would hardly believe there are only three of them, will bring their incredible melodies, riffs and powerful harmonies to the intimacy of The Pit Stage.
Black Honey
Black Honey, whose sound is not only sexy and smooth but also loud and powerful, have burst onto the music scene with beautiful single and EP releases, as we wait for an elusive album. Fronted by lead singer, Izzy B Phillips, who can be likened to a mix of Lana Del Rey and Stevie Nicks, Black Honey put on mouth-watering performances and has the crowd mesmerised. They will play the Festival Republic Stage on Saturday in Reading and Sunday in Leeds.
You Me At Six
Three years after their incredible number one album, ‘Cavalier Youth’, You Me At Six have released their fifth album, ‘Night People’. Always a festival favourite, the Surrey boys come into the festival having completed their biggest headline tour of their career and will headline the NME/Radio 1 Stage on Friday in Reading and Saturday in Leeds.
Ray BLK
The BBC Sound of 2017 winner’s powerful R&B sound and smooth hip-hop backing beats, will make their appearance at this year’s Reading and Leeds, as Ray BLK makes huge waves in the UK music scene. Following the release of two EP’s ‘Havisham’ (2015) and ‘Durt’ (2016), a Ray BLK album is surely on the horizon. Having already received comparisons to Lauryn Hill, Ray BLK will without doubt command her way to the top, so you’ll want to catch her as soon as possible.
PVRIS
American rock band PVRIS have been smashing it since 2012, release their second album ‘All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell’ the day the festival starts on the 25th of August and there will be no better place to hear it live than on Saturday in Reading and Sunday in Leeds on the Main Stage! With a larger than life sound, the three-piece band will surely kick off the era of their new album with an incredible set.
