Camila Cabello‘s new song ‘Cry For Me’ has hit us all right in the feels. The track is the third single from her upcoming sophomore album ‘Romance’ and talks about something we can all relate to – feeling wild with jealousy.

Taking to Instagram to explain the meaning, Camila revealed that it was actually inspired by music she wrote back when she was just 16-years-old. When we were sixteen we could barely do our maths homework. But anyway… the song was originally called ‘I’m pissed off you’re happy’ (sis snapped) and  is about a situation where “someone and I broke up and sooner than I expected, they moved on, they were having fun and happy and dating and I was just like…. what the hell, that didn’t take very long.” Girl, we’ve been there.

The music is upbeat and almost a sonic embodiment of frustration as it builds up to a climactic bridge where Camila pleads “How can you be okay? No, why won’t you cry?!” But don’t be fooled by the emotional lyrics, this isn’t a song about getting down on yourself. It’s one for screaming into your hairbrush, madly ripping up photos of your ex, having a little cry but then swiftly moving on with life like the boss bitch you are.

Let’s rage ladies:
