WOW! Not many artists can say that they have two certified diamond platinum albums before their 30th birthday, but Adele can. Her album ’25’ has sold more than 10 million copies in the U.S. That’s a lot of albums! She was awarded a diamond plaque to mark the occasion in New York after performing the last of her 6 sold out shows in Madison Square Gardens.
Although she hasn’t taken to social media to speak about her latest achievement, she definitely has a lot to smile about.
Due to the popularity of digital music and streaming platforms, certifying albums as diamond platinum has been more difficult to reach (as if it wasn’t difficult enough already!). The decision to keep her album ’25’ off streaming sites for the first 7 months of its release definitely paid off.
