My favourite restaurants I tried while visiting America
It’s been almost three months since I returned from my trip to America. I want to go back so badly. The whole experience was surreal and the memories will never be forgotten. I travelled around the West Coast with my best friends, and boy was it so worth it.
We began on a Contiki trip visiting San Francisco, Bass Lake, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Phoenix, San Diego and Los Angeles. Amazing. No words to describe. We had to visit Universal Studios (which was fantastic) and Disneyland (of course). Let me tell you right now, the parade and the fireworks were to die for. Seriously, after seeing the fireworks, I could’ve died happily. There is nothing else like it.
The World of Colour show at Disneyland was also breathtaking.
However, despite the awesomeness that is Disneyland, I had the pleasure of eating some of the best food. Praise. There were so many great restaurants my friends and I tried, and we’d gladly go back. Let me share some of my favourite restaurants with you.
The Stinking Rose (San Francisco)
This place is surprisingly fab. Not only does the food taste amazing, but they put garlic in almost everything. It’s the main ingredient. So good, and so delicious. Even the ice-cream has a hint of garlic. Must try.
Planet Hollywood (Las Vegas)
If you want to live it up in Vegas, Planet Hollywood is my go-to for great food. The ribs I had melted in my mouth (I sound like I belong on Masterchef). The restaurant is a really nice place too. They even have a wall of handprints of famous people. Really cool. There’s even a scary clown. Ah, no thanks. After my cocktail, I got to keep the really fancy glass it came in. Loving it.
IHOP (Los Angeles)
Best place to eat the morning after drinking? IHOP. Hands down best breakfast place around. Affordable and the food is pretty good. The french toast and pancakes were amazing. The picture above was my favourite thing to order. Even if you don’t want breakfast, you can always order lunch or dinner meals.
Duke’s Waikiki (Honolulu)
So convenient having this place attached to our hotel room. I don’t know what could be better. Walking out to the beach from my hotel, or attending the all you can eat buffet? Perfection. The fish and chips were amazing, the cocktails were spot-on and the view was fantastic. Lying on the beach and sipping a cocktail while eating fries was my dream come true.
The Cheesecake Factory (Waikiki, Honolulu)
Hands down the best and my favourite restaurant of the entire trip. If you love desserts, this is the place for you. I was in heaven. I’ve never seen so many cheesecakes in my entire life. God bless everything. I went to the one in Honolulu and because it’s so busy, you can’t make reservations. You have to get a beeper and wait for it to buzz before you can go in and eat. Worth it. Not only are the cheesecakes to die for (there are so many to choose), but the other food is too good to be true. I can’t even explain it anymore, just try it. You will thank me later.
When I go back to America, I will definitely be trying all these again. Absolutely amazing.
