Discover the Chronicle of Narnia new covers

Harper Collins Children just released a brand new edition of The Chronicles of Narnia and we are loving the colours — almost a rainbow, the colours are giving the fantasy books a refreshing look without going overboard.
To celebrate the new covers, we are here to share with you some fun things we have learned about the Narnia series and its author C.S. Lewis:
The original illustration
The newest edition features illustrations that readers might be familiar with. Indeed, these are the original illustrations done by Pauline Baynes, who has worked with J.R.R. Tolkien prior to working with C.S. Lewis. As you might notice, throughout various editions, the covers of Narnia feature Baynes’ illustrations.
The publication order vs the reading order
We have listed the books in chronological order but those who are familiar with the movie adaptations might notice that we didn’t list The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe first. This is because the movie that many are familiar with was actually based on the first book that was published, but not the first book in the Narnia universe according to chronological order.
The Netflix reboot
We adore the movie adaptations and were very sad when they were cancelled. However, we are definitely excited to learn that Greta Gerwig is directing two Narnia movies. While we would rather see some other Narnia books being adapted, we are still excited to see how Greta Gerwig would reimagine The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Prince Caspian. We will definitely miss the original cast (Ben Barnes!) but we can’t wait to see who Greta Gerwig casts… And maybe this could come true..?
