YouTubers are the Swiss Army knives of our generation—meaning, they are good at a little bit of everything. And writing is no exception. They may have swung to fame through their personable natures and insane editing skills, but their books have proven to be as popular as their faces. Here is the rundown of the best YouTuber books out there.
1. Zoe Sugg – ‘Girl Online’
So we had to start with YouTube princess, Zoella, and her contemporary YA trilogy, ‘Girl Online’. This book trio is aimed at younger readers and is as adorable and whimsical as the lady who penned them. Zoella also has her own book club, exclusive to WH Smiths, which features the latest compelling reads, dressed in covers only available to the club.

2. John Green – ‘The Fault in Our Stars’
It’s sometimes hard to fathom that YA superstar author John Green began by making YouTube vids along with his brother Hank. Since then, he’s penned four books (and two have been made into major motion pictures!). ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ is his most recent release, probably his most acclaimed book and my favourite!

3. Sasha Alsberg – ‘Zenith’
Sasha Alsberg is one of the heavy-hitters in the booktube community, and when she announced she was going to be co-authoring a book alongside novelist Lindsey Cummings, we all went wild. The book was originally scheduled to be released in three parts and only available in e-book format. After the stellar success of the first portion (featuring space pirates!) it was quickly snapped up by Harlequin Teen. Now all three parts are going to be released in one edition and is due for release this August.
4. Lindsey Cummings – ‘The Murder Complex’
Sasha’s co-author Lindsey also has her own YouTube channel, where she provides helpful advice for wannabe authors and showcases her idyllic life on her Texan farm. Alongside Zenith, Cummings is also the author of the ‘The Murder Complex’ series and the ‘Balance Keepers’ series.

5. Tyler Oakley – ‘Binge’
With over eight million YouTube subscribers, it was no surprise that Oakley’s first book was going to be a success. What did come as a shock was how deep and thought-provoking this book proved to be. Whilst narrated in his own witty and lovable voice, this series of essays discusses his experiences with eating disorders, suicidal thoughts, abusive relationships, coming out to a religious parent, advocacy, and his slow rise to fame in the world of social media.
6. Mamrie Hart – ‘I’ve Got This Round’
It’s a common misconception that YouTube is a teenager’s game. Hart proves this belief completely wrong with her popular and refreshing, slightly older perspective on life. Mamrie’s second book looks at her life as a newly-single 30-year-old, her escapades will leave you in stitches.

7. Hannah Witton – ‘Doing It’
Witton’s channel explores themes of sex and relationships with a refreshing openness and honesty. She is candid, honest, and speaks of educational topics in a conversational tone. Her book covers many of the same themes and is due for release this April.

8. Dan Howell and Phil Lester – ‘The Amazing Book is Not on Fire’
Dan and Phil’s non-fiction release is equal parts bizarre and fascinating. In their own words, in this book you can “learn how to draw the perfect cat whiskers, get advice on what to do in an awkward situation and discover which of our dining chairs represents you emotionally. With everything from what we text each other, to the time we met One Direction and what really happened in Vegas…”

9. Lauren Oliver – ‘Before I Fall’
Oliver wrote the super popular young adult ‘Delurium’ series, and her debut novel has recently been adapted into a major motion movie. What better time to check her out?

Moreci chronicles the highs and lows of life as an author on her YouTube channel, with an energising candidness. Her debut novel ‘Eve: The Awakening’ is a romantic science-fiction adventure that proves she puts her own words into practice.
