My reading lists seem to be getting progressively bigger as the months go by. But with so many exciting new releases over the past few years, it’s hard not to want to read ALL OF THE THINGS! There are beloved series, hyped new releases and book-to-movie adaptations that have been on my radar for some time, and March is the month I am finally going to purge them off my ever-growing tbr.

The Bone Season, The Mime Order and The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon

When author Samantha Shannon penned the first book in this series, she was immediately snatched up by Bloomsbury and promised a seven book deal. If my favourite publishing house are so passionate about her, then I think I will be as well. The third book in this series comes out in March and I was lucky enough to be granted an early copy. It seems like this is the perfect time for a series binge read.
Every Hidden Thing by Kenneth Oppel

I have seen this described as Romeo and Juliet meets Indiana Jones, and I am so down for that!
Because You’ll Never Meet Me and Nowhere Near You by Leah Thomas
Available in the UK and the US
This pretty, pastel contemporary duology promises to be just as sweet on the inside as the out. This is a genre I have become increasingly attracted to and I think it’s a given that I will sneak some on to every month’s tbr!
The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
Available in the UK and the US
This book was on everyone’s reading lists last Autumn when the movie adaptation was released. I staved off from seeing the film until I had read the book, but months later it is still sitting next to my bed. This zombie thriller promises to be like no other, with its focus on the ethics of humanity and I am ready for this thrilling yet heartbreaking story.
The Silent Land by David Dunham
Available in the US and the US
Historical fiction is a genre I enjoy and yet never seem to gravitate towards. For that reason I am trying to infuse a little into every month, and this one seemed like the perfect first pick! The synopsis promises feisty females in a first world war setting and gives little else away.
Children of Icarus by Caighlan Smith
Available in the UK and the US
Any sort of retellings become an auto-buy for me and the mythological basis of this story immediately intrigued me. I have seen mixed opinions of this one so I am interested to see what I will discover.
Endgame: The Training Diaries by James Frey
Available in the UK and the US
These companion novellas to the Endgame series have been on my tbr for the past two months and this is my promise to myself that March will be the month I will complete them!

Red Sister by Mark Lawrence

I have previously never read anything by this famed fantasy writer, despite having probably all of his other work sitting on my tbr. When the author approached me and offered a digital copy of his newest release I could not refuse! The narrative focuses on trainee assassins and sounds similar to one of my favourite reads of 2016, Nevernight.
Non-Heir, First Year and Apprentice by Rachel E. Carter

These are the first three instalments in bestselling author, Rachel E. Carter’s Black Mage series. Magical high fantasy has always been a favourite genre of mine and I am excited to get to these three hyped reads. Also, the covers are to DIE for!

The first line of the synopsis reads, “Annie’s mother is a serial killer” and that is all I needed to see before I knew I needed to read this book!
The Devil’s Prayer by Luke Gracias

The intriguing cover promises this to be a dark and thrilling read. I don’t think I have ever read a horror and historical fiction hybrid before, so I am excited to see how this one will fare.
He Said/She Said by Erin Kelly

The plot has a pretty generic crime thriller synopsis, but as this is a genre I always seem to enjoy and I thought I would give it a go. I have also yet to see anyone give this lower than a four-star rating. Promising.
The Transition by Luke Kennard

I’m sorry, but have you ever seen a duller cover!? Yet it was precisely because of the cover that I requested a copy of this. The plain and minimal design kept dragging my attention and the secrets it contained were begging to be released. I had initially assumed this to be a thriller novel, but it is in fact a futuristic dystopia. My fave!
Dark Tales by Shirley Jackson

I just know that renowned horror author, Shirley Jackson will deliver nothing less than perfection. Short story anthologies aren’t my favourite format, but I’ll make an exception here.
Endgame: The Zero Line Chronicles by James Frey

Raising Royalty by Carolyn Harris

This non-fiction does exactly as it says on the tin. I originally requested this as a form of writing research for my own fiction writing, but discovering the secrets of how the royals treat and raise their young also sounds voyeuristically fascinating!
21 titles and 7 genres. This month I am reading a bit of everything and that is exactly how I like it!
