Don’t deny it, I know you all have that one particular song where you’ll sing outloud to your hearts content. Those car rides are never boring. Stuck in traffic? The only solution is to sing. And make sure you pump the volume up, because if you don’t then what’s the point?
I know from experience that the 10 songs below are a definite jam for driving.
1. ‘CLOSER’ – THE CHAINSMOKERS FT HALSEY
There is no doubt in my mind that you’ve all belted this one out at one point in your lifetime. Because if you say no, you’re just lying to yourself.
2. ‘SORRY’ – JUSTIN BIEBER
The amount of times ‘Sorry’ has played in my car is a joke. But so worth it. One of my favourite songs to jam to with my best friend. No regrets.
3. ‘DRAG ME DOWN’ – ONE DIRECTION
OH YES! Harry’s high note is one that we all must attempt. Even if you sound like a dying rat, it’s so much fun. This is probably one of my faves to sing.
4. ‘STITCHES’ – SHAWN MENDES
Another favourite. I’ll hear the first few chords and I just know my body is ready. Some of my friends hate it but “driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cake hole” (Dean Winchester). By the way, have your read my review of his new album yet?
5. ‘WORK FROM HOME’ – FIFTH HARMONY
YAS, work it my 5H girls! This one always gets my body moving, the car bouncing, and people looking at me weirdly. JUST LET ME BE. God bless.
6. ‘LARGER THAN LIFE’ – BACKSTREET BOYS
Throwback to the 90’s is always a good idea. Once those good ol’ jams start to play, the car becomes so lit, and it’s my favourite part of the night.
7. ‘MY HEART WILL GO ON’ – CELINE DION
Don’t even deny this one. Whether it’s in the car or in the club, everyone gets so hyped and belts out this instant classic. And if they don’t, you’re hanging out with the wrong crowd.
8. ‘HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME’ – BRITNEY SPEARS
Once you get Britney playing, all bets are off. This song is the best to get the night going, or to end it. Regardless, this won’t be killing the mood any time soon.
9. ‘BLACK MAGIC’ – LITTLE MIX
Take a sip from my secret playlist, because this one is definitely on it. I don’t know whether it’s the beat or the lyrics but GIRL POWER! Nothing better.
10. ‘GIRLS TALK BOYS’ – 5SOS
Something about this ones makes me so happy. It could be the 80’s vibe I get every time I listen to it, or just cause it’s 5SOS. I always yell the lyrics out my window.
I’ll be honest, if these ten songs aren’t on your playlist then you really need to reconsider your priorities and get on that. These also happen to be some of my favourite songs to listen to.
