The Star Wars franchise is one of the most beloved and incredible, with every film getting better than the last. And ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story‘ looks set to continue that reputation – there is a new trailer for the upcoming release and it looks pretty epic. The film is also the second in the franchise to feature a woman as the protagonist… yes to progression amirite?!
‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ is set in the same universe, but follows a new host of characters. The story is centred around Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) a Rebellion soldier and criminal. She is recruited by Mon Mothma and assigned to a dangerous mission to steal plans for the Death Star – with the help of Rebels, a master swordsman, and non-allied forces. It also looks like Darth Vader is returning, so it probably won’t be easy…
The film is being directed by Gareth Edwards (best known for his work on ‘Godzilla’) and stars Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker.
‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ is released in UK cinemas on 16 December 2016.
