Ricky Gervais is pretty high in demand these days, between his writing, directing and performing. But because he’s an absolute babe, he didn’t forget about us fellow and loyal ‘The Office’ UK fans. David Brent is back, and better than ever. And this time he’s on the road – it’s all very exciting, we must say!
The film catches David 12 years on from his job at the paper company in Slough – to discover that he is now a travelling salesman for a cleaning and ladies’ personal hygiene products company… Fancehhh! Don’t be fooled by the day gig because Davey boy still hasn’t given up on his dream of becoming a rock star. He’s about to embark on a self-financed UK tour with his band Foregone Conclusion.
Waiting for the plot twist? Well, here it is. David’s band are session musicians who are literally in it for that dolla dolla bill y’all. He has also called in reinforcements with a talented rapper named Dom, for the street cred. Cashed in pensions and unpaid leave mean that this is ride or die for Mr Brent. But can he make his dream a reality?
