Sasha Alex Sloan has released her newest single, ‘New Normal.’ This is her third single off her upcoming album, I Blame the World ,out May 13th.
This soft rock-pop summer night melody is accompanied by lyrics describing life after a break-up. ‘I only see you whenever I dream,’ is the first verse sung in Sasha’s dreamy cadence. It sets the tone for a heartbreaking description of how life moves on after losing a significant other. The three-minute song is a break up song, sure, but it also a story of how to get back to your own normalcy after closing the door to your old life.
And while ‘New Normal’ is a tale known all too well, picking up the pieces after a break up, Sasha Alex Sloan’s honest and reverent lyricism makes a difficult time feel a little less scary and lonely. Sasha’s music is so rich and exciting due to her candid style. She is able to capture moments and feelings that people can resonate with and turn a time of hardship and self-reflection into a beautiful ode to personal growth and discovery.
