Selena Gomez is back in her kitchen for the second season of Selena + Chef, where she teams up with a professional chef for a quarantine-friendly cooking tutorial. If your New Year’s resolution is to learn how to cook, be sure to take note of the show’s recipes for meals like mole, Asian bananas foster, tapas, and more.
While admitting she is “not the best cook,” Selena is never afraid to try something new — even if it means she almost sets her kitchen on fire, as seen in the trailer below. The unrehearsed nature of the show makes it all the more entertaining to watch, but we hope she keeps her fire extinguisher handy!
Joining Selena in the kitchen once again are her grandparents, Nana and Papa, as well as her friends Raquelle Stevens and Liz Golden. Perhaps the most wholesome moment in the trailer is seeing Selena tell Papa that there is a fan account dedicated to him, but we also loved the return of her infamous rainbow knife.
In this season, Selena enlists the help of 10 chefs including Aarti Sequeira, Graham Elliot, and José Andrés, who give her tips for perfecting their recipes. The cherry on top is the charity spotlights in each episode, where Selena donates $10,000 to a charity chosen by the chefs.
Season 2 of Selena + Chef premieres on January 21 on HBO Max.
